The Senate stands in adjournment until Monday, June 20. The Senate will convene at 2:00 PM on Monday and will resume consideration amendments to H.R. 6, the Energy Bill.
At 5:00 PM, the Senate will proceed to consideration of the nomination of John Bolton to be Ambassador to the United Nations, with an hour of debate followed by a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on this nomination. On May 26, a vote on the motion to invoke cloture was defeated, allowing senators additional time to seek background information concerning Bolton. If the cloture vote is agreed to this Monday, the Senate will vote immediately on the confirmation of John Bolton.
