Senator Domenici spoke in favor of the Bunning-Domenici amendment #1628 to the Energy Bill. This amendment would impose a mandate for 6 billion gallons of coal-to-liquid fuel by 2022. He noted that this mandate would also require that greenhouse gas emissions from coal-to-liquid fuels be 20% better than gasoline. He stated that this amendment would create an investment in rural communities, good-paying jobs and cheaper energy for consumers.
