Economic Recovery In Vermont

Congress and President Obama moved swiftly this year to craft a $789 billion economic recovery package designed to create or save 3.5 million jobs, cut taxes for 95 percent of working Americans, and invest in an historic transformation of our economy.  Vermont is expected to receive more than $700 million in direct federal funding under this package, with additional funds coming to Vermont through competitive grant programs and through tax reductions for individuals and businesses.

As of July 7, 2009, the Recovery Act has committed nearly $300 million to Vermont. Investments include tax cuts for families, funding for new roads, improved schools, safer communities and modernized energy systems.
