Senator Leahy offers legal clerkships to law students during the
academic year and the summer. Each law clerk will observe the
legislative process by working for Senator Leahy on the
Senate Judiciary
Committee. Law clerks will be assigned a wide variety of projects,
including legal research, preparation of memoranda and materials for
committee hearings and votes, as well as the opportunity to assist in
legislative matters. These positions provide a unique opportunity to
participate in the functioning of the Senate. They are typically unpaid,
full-time positions.
