The Focus of Today's Session will be
a Period of Morning Business

11:30 A.M.

The Senate has adjourned until 1:00 pm on Monday, April 5th.

11:25 A.M.

Standing next to a chart depicting "Bush's Economic Record: Long-term Unemployment Nearly Tripled," Senator Jon Corzine of New Jersey is discussing that not only has the Bush Administration been bad for jobs but that it has also led our country into a $540 billion deficit.

11:00 A.M.

Continuing this morning's discussion on jobs and unemployment, Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Sessions have both come to the floor. Senator Sessions began by stating the statistic that 308,000 new jobs will be created this coming month.

10:30 A.M.

Senator Mitch McConnell is discussing how the decade we are presently in is "the best decade in 50 years" concerning unemployment.  He is comparing claims made by members of both parties concerning jobs and unemployment in 2004 versus in 1996.

9:30 A.M.

Senator Carl Levin of Michigan is starting this morning by discussing the rising prices of gasoline.

9:00 A.M.

The Senate convenes today at 9:00 for a period of morning business.
