           Happy Halloween!

       12:30 P.M.

With no votes scheduled for today Senators had the opportunity to come to the floor to speak on subjects important to them.  Minority Whip, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada and Majority Leader, Senator Bill Frist of Tennessee, spoke about the schedule of the Senate and what issues would be considered during the remainder of the first session of the 108th Congress.  The Senate is now adjourned until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, when it will consider the Conference Report for the Iraq/Afghanistan Supplemental Appropriations bill.  At 5:00 on Monday, a voice vote is expected on the conference report for the bill.  The Senate will then consider the Interior Appropriations bill for sixty minutes before voting on final passage.

        10:00 A.M.

Last night was a late night, during which the Senate passed H.R.2800, the Foreign Operations Appropriations bill.  The Senate is in adjournment today until 10:00, at which time they will be in a period of morning business.  The Majority Leader has announced that on Monday the Senate will begin consideration of the conference report to H.R.2691, the Iraq/Afghanistan Emergency Supplemental Appropriations bill, with a vote on the report expected at 5:00.
