“Any fair law professor would give the President’s spokesman an ‘F’ for constitutional interpretation.  Other presidents have consulted with the Senate in choosing Supreme Court nominees, with good results for the court and for the American people.

“This is not about what’s good for the Republican Party or the Democratic Party but what is good for the country.  I hope the President will choose to unite instead of divide in the way he decides to fill any vacancy on the court.”
