Gerald Ford helped to heal a nation.  His was the steady, calming hand on the tiller of a nation riven by scandal and corruption and a divisive war.

Gerald and Betty Ford led through their examples of decency and civility.  Their contributions to the nation were even more a matter of who they were than what they did.

Marcelle and I are among the millions of grateful Americans who offer our prayers, and our thanks, to Betty and to all of the Ford family.
