“It is regrettable that the President seems intent on digging us deeper into Iraq’s civil war and on dropping this mess on the doorstep of his successor.

“The new Congress, reflecting the will of the American people, has charted a way out.  The President should not use his veto pen to compound and lengthen the already long list of mistakes that have made this war one of the costliest national security blunders in our history.”
