$1.75 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Dec. 1, World AIDS Day, by dozens of students from St. Michael's
College in Colchester, Vt., who presented Leahy with a thank you
card for his support in combating global AIDS. The card
featured the signatures of students from St. Michael's, Leahy's
alma mater. Leahy, a senior member of the Senate
Appropriations Committee, has been a leader in Congress in the
fight to combat AIDS worldwide.]
